Re: Spousal Support

Any divorce properly completed and entered in a circuit court of record in the Commonwealth of Virginia should be recognized as valid and binding upon the courts of India as far as the dissolution of your marriage is concerned. The issue of your responsibilty or not for providing spousal support to your wife should be adjudicated as part of the divorce. (If the marriage is short term and your wife has the knowledge, skills, and ability to earn her own living, there should be no award of spousal support for her under these circumstances.)
