spouse taking away personal injury money

Is it possible for your spouse to take away your sgli money specifically designated to you for your injuries? If it was in a joint acct with a power of attorney at the time.

If the funds were in a joint account, either account holder spouse would have the right to remove such funds for whatever purpose he or she wanted.
