Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I am in the state of Virginia. I have a question regarding child support / alimony obligations.

If I am paying for my ex wife health insurance benefits and paying alimony - can these payments be used to lower my child support obligations? Or are they completely separate?

Yes, these payments are completely separate and have nothing to do with the calcualtion of your share of the child support obligation. (Only if you were making support payments for other children not included in the referenced child support obligation could you receive credit for them under the Virginia Child Support Guidelines.)
