Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

different states

I temporarily moved to Virginia to assist and over see my elderly parents medical care. My husband is in Florida, and living in our home that is deeded to me only.

Because of the different states, should I obtain an attorney in Florida or in Virginia?

Re: different states

If it's to start a divorce proceeding, Florida is almost certainly the forum.

If it's to clear title to the Florida property, it's Florida for sure.

If you have not changed your driver's license from Florida, nor registered to vote in Virginia, nor done anything else to establish residency or domicile in Virginia, Florida is the forum for just about anything short of something that may have happened to you in Virginia.
