Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
isn't this stealing?
My husband and I are seperated and he took an item that I purchased for about 4,000.00. This was purchased with money obtained by me before our marriage. I was going to wait for the divorce hearing to bring this up, but, tonight i noticed his girlfriend that is living with him is selling it on the internet. Is there anything I can do? It's not hers or his to sell.

Re: isn't this stealing?
If it's merely the value(the $4000) of the object which has been taken from you and which you are concerned about, it would be advisable to recoup that during the divorce proceedings.
However, if it's the object itself which you wish to preserve as your personal property, you could immediately file a warrant in detinue in the general district court for its return to you as your property or, in the alternative, a judgment against the wrongful taker for the amount of its fair market value.
