Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Step-parent rights

My husband's ex-wife no longer wants responsibility of her 16 yr. old son who was sharing visitation time (every other week) between her home and ours. He will now only see her every other weekend, if she feels like it. My question is as a step parent, I want to sue her for child support (my husband does not). I feel I should be compensated for raising her child. Do I have a case?

Re: Step-parent rights

No, you do not; the only person in your household

who would have standing to pursue such a suit would be the boy's father.
