Re: subpoena duces tecum?

A subpoena duces tecum may be used to subpoena documents or other relevant information from an opposing party which may be relevant to a pending lawsuit matter in the general district court.

It cannot be served, however, directly upon an opposing party in the circuit court in a domestic relations or other matter to obtain such information. There are other methods, however, of discovering and obtaining such information which a party may utilize in the pretrial stages of a case

which is being litigated in the circuit court.
