Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Other $ support

My ex pays his child support on time, and as stated in our divorce decree, he is to pay 2/3 of medical, dental, clothing, etc. He has not paid that part for the past several years and owes me about $6,000.00. He owns his own business, and works alot of ''side jobs'' that he gets paid cash for. He claims he's always low on money, and doesn't know how he can pay me. I spoke to my lawyer about this and he said it would probably be hard to get, especially if he doesn't ''claim'' his side money. I have given him all the recipts, have written letters, and generally been nice about it. Well, I had to sell my house last year due to finances, and really need that money. We have 3 children, 22, 19, and 15. He pays no college and says he will pay child support until they are out of college. My oldest graduates this May. Thanks you for any info on receiving this money.

Re: Other $ support

If your ex-spouse is not in full compliance

with the terms of the court order, he can be

brought into court on an action to show

cause why he should not be found in contempt

of court.

A hearing on the matter can be scheduled to determine why he's not in full compliance and what measures need to be taken to ensure that he comes into such compliance.
