Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

taking child to Disney world

Me and my ex have split physical custody. 4 days with me, 3 with him. The order is silent on out of state trips.

We do not get along. Sometimes he is ok then drinks and starts trouble with me.

I want to take the kids for a week to Disney world and he is ok with it (now). The problem is he drinks then changes. Since it will be longer than the 4 days in the agreement what should I get to protect myself if he calls the police on me ? (to be a jerk while we are down there). Would a notarized statement from him before we left protect me if he changed his mind (after drinking) during the trip aand decided to call the police and say I kidnapped them. I am not trying to change the whole custody agreement. Just want to take my kids to Disney for 8 days.
