Temporary custody child support

There has never been any court ordered child support paid by either mother or father, but I now have temporary custody so can I file for child support until custody is decided?nnAnd by state law does any one of us have to pay 1/2 of medical bills?

Re: Temporary custody child support

Under Virginia law both the mother and father are responsible for paying child support, including

medical insurance premiums or doctors' bills incurred in providing medical care for the child(ren).
