Temporary Custody of a child w/o court intervention

When temporary custody is given to a friend without court intervention, can the mother come get her child at any time?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Did the mother voluntarily give the child to a friend without court intervention? If so, yes, the mother can come back to retrieve the child.
