Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Temporary Custody,

In 1991 I gave "Temporary Custody" to my parents for my daughter. At the time I did not have a job. I had no insurance for my daughter, my parents desided that my father would put her on his. His company sent him a letter stating that his insurance would not put her on his insurance without getting custody of my daughter. Thinking in the best intrest of my child I gave up custody, but it was temporay and it said that on the court documents. I'm married and have two more children now. And my parents will not give up custody nowand say I can only see her every other weekend. And then I still don't get her. This day after father's day I found out that my mother left for a long vacation out of state with my daughter and she will not be back till August 1 and she has summer school still to attend in August. It will be three month on August 1 since I have seen or heard from my daughter.I tried to talk to my parents, but my father informs me that if he wants to he can adopt my daughter.

MY Question to you is how can I go about getting my daughter back. And my next question is can my parent really adopt my child??

Re: Temporary Custody,

You need a custody trial. Liklihood parents could adopt over your objection seems very remote. Your best shot at custody is to have lots of visitation first. Call if you need help.
