Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

tricked by con

My daughter is 5 years old, and is about to start school. I gave her biological father last name. He put his self in child support when he found out i was about to get married. Two years later he stated he no long wanted to pay child support and wanted to give up his rights. And since my husband was taking care of her he should be the father, and ask me to take him out of child support....that since he put his self in he could not take is self out. And that he was going to the courthouse to sign over his rights. I took him out of child support, a waited for the papers. They never showed up, when I called him for the paper he said trust nobody but yourself. And he was out of child support, he doesn't want to see the child and the law can't touch him. What are my rights in the fact I was mislead by a con, whom stated he got over on the law.

Before anything else, thanks for writing me at LawGuru.com

No, daughter's right are safe. You can contact to local Courthouse and request for child support. He is the father. You may go to Courthouse and file for child support in any time. By yourself is possible.

Any doubt or another question, let me know it please.
