If there is a child support order in effect, it will stay in effect until it is changed by the Court. The change will be effective no earlier than the date a petition is filed by the "non_custodial" and served on the "custodial" parent. which in your case would be a petition filed by the parent with whom the child is now living against the parent who formerly had custody.
