Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Validity of Nevada divorces in VA
My husband and I have been separated 6 months and have a signed, notarized separation agreement which adequately addresses child support and division of assets. Are no-residency Nevada divorces valid in Virginia so we don't have to wait another 6 months to file? Thank you.

Re: Validity of Nevada divorces in VA
Virginia recognizes Nevada divorces, and vice versa, as long as they comport with the matrimonial dissolution (divorce )laws of that particular state in which they occurred.
