Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Vicious ex mother inlaw
I have been divorced for 10 years with everything equitibaly split to both our agreement at that time. My ex- mother inlaw is now contacting me and harrassing me bringing up gifts and things of the type that were done for my wife and I some of which were 30 years ago, and is demanding payment for them. I know it's just harrassment and she wants money for my grown son (27 years old) who refuses to work or take any responsibility for his own life. I've stated to her my stance on not enabling him to continue his current lifestyle and that I wont support it. What if anything can I do to make this woman leave me and my family in peace? I owe neither her or her daughter nothing. My relationship with my son is only between the two of us.
I have at least 7 letters, 2 e-mails and at least 2 answering machine messages with slandering type comments. She has not physically threatened me yet. This is starting to drain on my new marriage and my pschycological being.

If the woman continues to make harassing phone calls to your home, these can be reported to the phone company which provides your service for investigation and appropriate action.
