Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Visitation
I hv sole custody of my son-ex has visitation. He remarried n early 05 and in Aug 05 he ended all communication w/me&visitation with my
son. I requested ct asst. mediation 2 hopefully resolve whatever issues, but he didn't show. After many vcmail msgs 2 him & returned mail
later, in Dec. 05 he called & demanded that I lv him alone-don't call or write. I'm now remarried w/another child & another due & my son is
very happy. My hsbd is AD military. In 08 recvd orders 2 Japan. Having zero contact w/my ex since 05, his whereabouts were unk, I gave
notice 2 the court of my change of address 3 mo b4 leaving & I also noted his vanishment & my inability 2 notify him of our move. Now,
almost 4 yrs later, (my son is 11 & totally resents his father) last week he goes 2 ct & files charges against me 4 failure 2 comply w/visitation.
My son&I hv been thru enough hell w/him &I don't want my son 2 go thru it again. This is not about my son-he's doing this 2 spite me by
USING my son like always . He's played this game many times b 4. It's not fair. How can he b allowed 2 file bogus claims? I'm in japan-what
can I do 2 defend myself on this? I can't fly, I'm 7mo pregnant & my hsbd is deployed. Pls advise. Thank you.

Re: Visitation
You would likely be well advised to hire a Virginia lawyer who is appropriately experienced and knowledgeable in the domestic relations law of the Commonwealth to defend you against these "bogus claims".
