Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My wife left me in February of 2009 and moved two states away. She refused to try marriage counseling and has taken my daughter with her. Due to us being in a tough financial situation and her having her parents to turn to, I allowed her to take my daughter. We filed a court order for joint custody and stating that her parents' home is my daughter's primary residence and my is the second. I get her 2 weekends a month and a full week every two months. If I could would have her all the time, but my wife left as I hit rock bottom. Now every time we meet at our designated "halfway" point, I'm always spending two or more hours in the car due to the traffic in my area, compared to the one hour she drives. When I arrive, she is always harassing me and cursing at me in front of my daughter. What kind of rights do I have at this point regarding what state my daughter should be living in?
