Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My wife left Virginia with my son while I was deployed overseas with the Navy and then filed for divorce in Illinois. Is there a way under the Uniformed Services Civil Relief Act that I can make her return to Virginia or at least get the divorce filed in Virginia?

No, and unless you are currently deployed, you would most

likely be unable to claim eligibility for the remedies available to

service members under this Act. Furthermore, even if you were

eligible, there is nothing in this law that you could use as far as I am

aware to compel your wife to return to Virginia or to shift the venue for

the divorce which she has filed in Illinois to the Commonwealth.
