Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My wife is trying to serve me papers, stating it's in reference to our divorce on Aug.3,2012. I haven't been served nor do I have an attorney as of yet. Do I attend court on her say so and if not what could happen. She supposedly filed in Campbell County, Va. I need some advise.

Until you are properly served with the paperwork in such a divorce

suit, you are not required to do anything (which includes appearing

in court "on her say so").
