Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Will my recent filing of chapter 13 affect my chances of getting permanent custody of my child? My daughter was sexually abused by two boys while in the care of my ex and I have legal temporary custody. I still pay child support (to show good faith) and am current on payments. Will the judge view my filing as a negative factor?

No, a parent filing bankruptcy is not one of the 10 factors set out

in Va. Code Sec.20-124.3 which a judge must consider in determining

the best interests of a child who is the subject of a pending

custody petition.
