Legal Question in Medical Leave in Virginia

I am 8 months pregnant and will be taking my FMLA leave soon from my work where I am a social worker. My employer has informed me that I will be responsible for a lot of the work that is due while I was gone when I return to work. Also, while I was on bedrest last month my supervisor called me continuously with work questions. What are my rights as an employee taking FMLA to cover myself in regards to actually having my work covered and not having to accept calls while out.

Once FMLA leave has been approved and commenced, there is nothing in

the Act itself of which I am aware which requires an employee taking such leave

for "having [his or her] work covered". As for the telephone calls from your supervisor, you might suggest that fewer such calls should be made but it probably would be unwise to refuse all of them.
