Legal Question in Medical Leave in Virginia

Not attending training while off.

I have taken seven weeks off to take care of my wife and new born son. While I have been off there has been training at my workplace that I did not attend. Can my employer punish me for not attending the training?

Depends on what you mean by punish and the leave terms. Can they, yes. Should they, no.
