FLMA for bus drivers and aids

a school bus aid who has been employed for 8 yrs needs to take leave for a medically required surgery has been told she can only take 15 days leave then she will be terminated. she only works 4.5hrs per day 187 days per school year.

187 x 4.5 = 841.5 hours. An employee

to be eligible for FMLA leave, must have worked at least 1250 hours in the 12 months immediately preceding the requested leave. SEC. 102(A)(i)(ii)Family & Medical Leave Act

Unfortunately, this particular school bus aid would not appear to be eligible for FMLA leave under the particular circumstances of her employment.
