Legal Question in Medical Leave in Virginia

FMLA / Medical Job Seperation/Suspension

I'll keep this brief, and confidential

I been out on a documented medical condition (Documented since 2003) - Since the beginning of June, My doctor gave me notes to cover me enough for the days I missed, and the company gave me 2 leaves approved by human resources. My medical condition continued, and my doctor filled out, faxed FMLA paperwork, the job claimed they naver had it, so I got the paperwork in hand, and then they got the fax magically... Then they said I needed to wait for the approval of the FMLA until my doctor supplied them with doctors notes from the entire month (basiclally) of June.... Even for the company approved time off, they needed notes...

Well, I was suspended, and will probably be fired

My question is, if I am fired, is this legal at all? How can a company deny and delay FMLA when the doctor has already filled it out and wanted it done ASAP?

Thank you
