Legal Question in Medical Leave in Virginia
FMLA question
I have been on FMLA for 8 weeks and was recently asked to fill out a packet of papers from the company I work for, I need to get my doctors signature and more information on my illness documented from him as well and my deadline to get it done is on Friday, the 13th. I can't be seen until the 17th, and if I don't get it filled out on time, can I lose my job? I am very concerned, Please help.

Re: FMLA question
No, an employee on FMLA leave has a reasonable amount of time to supply the employer with this kind of information, and the kind of artificial deadlines imposed by the employer which you've described are not authorized anywhere in the FMLA as far as I am aware.
