Legal Question in Medical Leave in Virginia

FMLA w/ Short Term Disabilty

I left work because of pregnancy complications-I had short term disability and FMLA. I am ''now'' being told that these two benefits run concurrently. The letter given to me from my benefits officer had a Nov. 19th on it as my return to work date. Upon trying to return to work on October 17th I was told that my time to return to work had passed-and that my position had been given away-even though the date on my letter had not come to pass. My letter from the benefits office says Nov 19th and now I'm being told it was Sept that I was due back. What else was I supposed to go by if the letter given to me by the ''benefits'' office was all that I had -Now I'm without a job, with a newborn child and no health insurance.
