Intermittent leave

i AM SOUL CARE OF MY HUSBAND - STROKE VICTIM - NEED TO BE HOME ON WEEKENDS - CURRENTLY WORK EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AND IT IS WORKING A HARDSHIP ON MY FAMILY - CAN I use Family Medical Leave intermittently without losing my current position and hours (7-3) must be home at 3 - family member must leave at 3 pm

The Family & Medical Leave Act(FMLA) allows for intermittent leave(unpaid)for an employee to care for a sick family member. However, whether it can be tailored to the hours of your preference will be up to your employer.
