Legal Question in Medical Leave in Virginia

job abandonment??

I received a certified letter from my employer titled employer response for family medical leave, which has 9 numbered paragraphs, it was checked that i would not have to furnish periodic reports for my leave situation or my status and intent to return to work. But I spoke with the hr dept to ask a question about long term disability and was told that I was being sent another letter because I had abandoned my job because they had not heard from me in a month. And that it was my word against the woman who sent the letter if that paragragh or any of the others were actually checked. First of all my job has a 3 day no call no show policy for job abandonment, and like i said its been over a month. I have the actual letter, which they claim they don't have. What can I do?

Re: job abandonment??

You can contest your termination (if that's what happened) and your employer's alleged violation of the Family & Medical Leave Act(FMLA)in fedral court.
