Legal Question in Medical Leave in Virginia
My sister works at Target off Midlothian Trnpk and she needs to go on maturnity leave. The doctor is willing to sign the papers so she can do so, but the Target HR is saying she is being denied maturnity leave because she has not been working there for a year. My question is, is this legal ?

The employer is not required to grant Family & Medical Leave unless the employee has worked for it 12 months and/or 1250 hours in the period preceding the request.
