Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

I am a 50% owner of a boat (worth approx. $60,000). I entered into this ownership agreement without any written contract. We both paid an equal amount to have the boat custom built. I have not used the boat for approx. 4 years. During this time the co- owner continued to use the boat and has paid for repairs, property tax and insurance on the boat. At this point I want to sell the boat and recoup some of my investment. The co-owner does not want to sell the boat and does not want to purchase my half. Can I force a sell or a purchase of my half?

Yes, possibly, depending upon the terms of this verbal ownership agreement, but

without knowing more of the relevant facts surrounding this agreement, I could npt

offer a definitive opinion on this matter.
