Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Our 21 year old son used our vehicle with our permission to drive out to Colorado for the summer to work as an intern. We live in Florida and the vehicle is registered in Florida. In August 2009 on the day before he was to return home he loaned the car to a fellow intern who is from Virginia. The young lady crashed the vehicle and destroyed it. She was cited for careless driving. We are considering sueing her in Virginia's General District courts in the Small Claims Court division. What would be the Statutue of Limitations to bring forth a civil suit against the driver in her home state of Virginia?

Assuming that the cause of action that you would be bringing in the GDC,

would be for destruction of property, probably five years from the date

of the accident.
