assault question
family friend assaulted an undercover officer ....situation stemmed from a young lady calling friend and his friends the N word....he was charged with assault(class 1 misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct.....do you believe there is any jail time involved?

If the alleged assaulter has no prior convictions, he should likely escape from this legal imbroglio without having to serve time in jail. However, to make that more likely, he'll need to have a competent criminal defense counsel representing him in this matter, whether the attorney is retained by the accused or appointed by the court.
