Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
Used commercial truck purchase
We purchased a used dump truck from a dealer ''as is'' but we did ask if there were any major repairs needed to the truck. The dealer answered no. We took it to a reputible repair facility and the bill ended up being $5,000.00 for repair to major engine problems. What recourse do we have? Do we have to pursue this in Virginia (state of sale) or Alabama (state of residency)?

Re: Used commercial truck purchase
You would pursue the matter in Virginia where the sale took place and
in order to recover damages, you would likely have to prove by clear and convincing evidence that the transaction was fraudulent in some manner.
