Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

I filed a "Motion to Show Cause" last week in Caroline County, VA circuit court against a defendant is a civil suit that I was the plaintiff in for failing to follow through on something in our "Final Order". Do I need to follow up with the court about a hearing date or does the judge read the motion and then decide on if there will be a hearing or not...I'm a little confused. Thanks.

You must follow up with the clerk's office to set a hearing date on the motion and ensure that

the defendant has received a properly served copy of your motion as well as notice of any hearing date which is subsequently set in the matter. (Your Show Cause Motion should have

been accompanied by a Notice which would have set the date for the hearing.)
