my grandson was injured by a team mate during a varsity high school football game. Severe leg break, required rod and pins. Who is responsible for loss of college scholarship??

Legally, no one. That's one of the risks of playing competitive football.

His parents are responsible for allowing him to play. When a person participates in organized sports they "assume" certain risks. Severe injury is an inherent risk in playing football.
