Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
So a friend just brought this to my attention. An ex friend of mine, decided to write it to a website and write a disgusting article about me. She also posted the link to her personal fan page. It is disgusting what she wrote about me, as well as she stole photos from my facebook that I own, that are copyrighted to me. I am appaled at this. I have not had any contact with this girl since January and have not provoked her at all to do something like this. I mean for christ sakes im 24 and shes 26. So anyways a friend of mine saw that she posted this. I know it was her cause of some personal statements she wrote in there. Saying she personally did something to me. I contacted the police, but couldnt file harrasment charges cause she didnt threaten my life. But said to contact a lawyer first thing monday because it is defamation of character.
the article is disgusting, and I am very embarrased and feeling very violated. She calls me all kinds of names, mocks my profession and says i should be in a drag show.
Although she doesnt use my name, or say she wrote it. I know its her on the basis of she said she had to tie my bra once. When she was the only person who had ever done that. AND she posted it on her facebook agreeing with it.
I havent contacted my family lawyer yet, but will do so monday morning. Does this sound like a case where I can sue over defamation of character, and stealing my photos.
I am very upset right now, and humiliated.
Please no rude comments here is the article

Based upon these facts as outlined, I don't see your claim for
defamation against a less than fully identified person as likely to go anywhere
under current Virginia law.
