Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

I need to know if my husband and I can have someone charged/arrested for leaving vulgar, threatning messages about us on someone elses answering machine/cell phone

If the messages threatened imminent bodily harm or death to either you

or a family member which were then communicated to you, the

message leaver could be criminally liable. However, if the messages

were merely vulgar or did not specifically threaten as described above,

then you can pretty much forget it(in my opinion).
