Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

lawyer contact

What if someone calls you claiming to be a lawyer tells you that they are calling on behalf of their client and that they are taking you to small claims court. If you call them back and the supposed lawyer refuses to give any of their information such as their name or what law office they work for, can they do that? What should I do in my case?

Re: lawyer contact

Virgina lawyers are not permitted to represent clients in the small claims courts of the Commonwealth.

Either ignore these probable pretenders or tell them to serve you with proper notice of their alleged small claims court lawsuit.

Then continue on with your course towards the 18th Tee.
