Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

loan on a car

My exhusband signed a letter agreeing to pay for a car loan that is in both names until the loan was paid in full and the car would be become mine. He now doesnt want to pay for the car and wants the bank to take it back. Is this letter of any value to make him pay for the car?

Re: loan on a car

If the letter amounts to a contract between you and him, then it's possible that you might be able to sue your former husband for breach thereof and possibly win.

Otherwise, no, the letter would likely be of little value in compelling him to follow through on his alleged promise.
