Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
A mobile mechanic was to service my car's headlights, taillights and rims. He came with his wife and worked on my car but in the middle of it he screwed up and sprayed my trims to my vehicle and it damaged the paint severely. He promised to return and fix it no cost. He wrote up a receipt with his address and name. When it was the day for him to come back he never showed up and I called him there was no response. When I used a different number his wife picked up and said he was in an accident and will call me back, which she never did. Today I texted him as another person and he responded almost immediately and when I call or text there is no response. I have logged all the convos. I went to MAACO and it costs almost $300 to fix the paint and I would like my $190 back. What should I do?
