my money or hers

I am about to get my first job .my mother demands that I give her some of the money that I make. She has a job and has money coming in. I am under 18 so do I have to give the money or not?

As long as you're a minor, your parents are entitled to receive the full value of your services. If they wish to hire you out to someone else and keep all the money for themselves, they're entitled to do that, too. The law presumes that the parents have a right to the child's labor and the proceeds. So be grateful she's letting you keep some of the money.
