Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

My mother, who represented herself pro se in a virginia personal injury civil case has become permanently disabled and cannot stand in court. I am acquiring a limited power of attorney to speak for her in legal issues.

My question is how do I go about organising a Judicial Settlement Conference?

I live in Australia and will be traveling to the States shortly for a period of 3 weeks, can I organize it from here and is this enough time to organize it all and see it through? If not, is it possible to conduct a phone/internet conference call?

You should arrange to consult with an attorney for advice on this matter who handles personal injury matters in the U.S. locality involved while you are still in Australia and BEFORE you embark for the United States, and, to discuss, perhaps, the possibility of this lawyer representing your mother rather than you attempting to do it in her behalf via a POA which will very likely end in a less than favorable result than would otherwise be the case if she were represented by local counsel.
