had motorcycle painted

I'm in virginia, i had my bike painted, i was quoted a price of $800 in which i can't find the email and when i receive the bike the price was 2600. I didn't sign any documents stating any work that i wanted done to the bike, since there was not a contract how does that work

RESPONSE: If there's no written contract or verbal agreement, you are responsible for paying him a "fair" value for the service he performed. Of course, the two of you will likely have different views of what is fair. To resolve it, you might have to take a trip to small claims court.
