Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Posessions

My ex girlfriend and I used to live together and we broke up about 8 months ago and split all of our jointly owned possesions. She has been harassing me and my current girlfriend saying that she is going to get the police involved because she wants more of ''her stuff'' back. I have allowed her to come over to my place to get whatever she needs but she always leaves empty handed because she picks a fight with me and then storms out. I am now ignoring her phone calls and emails. What rights do I have as far as the harrassment goes? Also, can the police enter my home without my permission just because she claims I have some of her possessions?

Re: Posessions

The police or local law enforcement authorities will not involve themselves in assisting your former girlfriend in retrieving her property from your household since this is essentially a civil rather than a law enforcement matter. Her possible remedy lies not with them but,

if necessary, with the local general district court and the remedy known as a warrant in detinue which she can file for the return of her property if for some reason you are unwilling to voluntarily return it to her.
