Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Problem Neighbor

I have a neighbor who for the past 2.5 years has been harassing my husband and I. It all started when we fenced in our yard - they don't ''like'' fences and therefore tried to get us in trouble with the county. We went to a county zoning appeals board and won...ever since that they have been trying to ''get even'' with us. I have documented every incident, but their latest effort has now involved my husband's work. They called and started complaining about my husband's company van being parked on the street (a public street), and basically made up lies in order to get my husband in trouble with his employer. They have also been known to stand in front of their house and ''wait'' for my husband to leave for work in order to confront him. What should we be doing to protect ourselves from these people and how far can they go before legal action can be taken?

Re: Problem Neighbor

I see nothing in the facts which you've set forth in your question which would give you a valid reason to bring legal action against these disagreeable neighbors. Disagreeable neighbors(or

our perceptions thereof) seem to be an increasing

fact of life in our American culture these days.
