Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

property damage

2 kids from the neighborhood were in my yard without my kids - 1 of the kids rolled a skateboard through our glass door. The kid's father refuses to pay for the whole door-only half. Are both kids responsible for damages or just the one who's foot was on the skateboard? It looks like this will have to go to civil court .

Re: property damage

Only the one who actually caused the damage, but, perhaps, depending upon his age, even he might not be held responsible (and the parent by extension) by a court hearing the matter.
