Put car loan in my name for a friend

I put a car loan in my name for a friend. He has been paying for the car payments, though late most months. I am concerned about him not keeping up his end of the agreement. Am I able to ask for the car back at this point?

Sure, you can ask, but he's unlikely to accommodate your request, particularly, in view of all of the payments which apparently he's already made on the car.
