Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
i was released from prison last year after serving two years for vol. manslaughter. the original charge was 1st degree murder. it was self defense and i was protecting myself and my son. i obtained employment at a local eatery. two weeks ago my employer came to me and let me know that my victims mom has been writing home office telling them i was a murderer and on top of that stole from her which is completely untrue. i have also found out this has been going on since sept of last year and was not told where i could take legal action to stop this i have copies of complaints and all court papers where trespassing and protective orders were filed against my partner and pictures of how badly i was beaten and abused by her. i even have copies of trespassing papers that her own family filed before all of this happened along with copies of where i signed everything over to this woman while i was incarcerated to cover not just my debts to her but her daughters also. since these compliants have been filed i am oly given 2 or 3 shifts a wekk by my employer. they have told me i have to fix this . what are my legal options???? i really do not know where to turn at this point. i have two children and cannot afford to lose my job.

I would suggest that you arrange for a consultation with an attorney who handles
civil litigation matters to discuss what your reasonable remedies/options might be to put a stop to the situation you've described and, perhaps, recover
whatever civil damages that you may have incurred thus far from this
person's conduct.
