Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
Slander? Libel? Something?
I was in business with someone that I am no longer in business with. Since our parting, I sued her in Small Claims Court and was awarded a judgment against her. In return, she reported me to the Campus Police at her college and claimed I sexually assaulted her, among other things. After the police investigated, they determined that she was less then truthful and closed the case. Since then she has also started talking and e-mailing business associates of mine and telling them different things, that are not true. I am now losing these associates. Can I legally do anything to stop her?

Re: Slander? Libel? Something?
Yes, you can clearly sue her for defamation, and also for several related business-oriented torts.
But short of that all you can do is warn her. You might have a lawyer warn her in a letter.
It might not do any good, but it's a start.
